Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks

Year of Wonders - Geraldine Brooks

Read by Tiffany:  Memorable, engaging, yet accessible and wonderfully told. The characters are well constructed, with histories that emerge naturally in pieces as the story unfolds (such as Anna's father putting a scold's bridle on her mother). I found the ending a highly romanticised and fanciful, however up to the lifting of the quarantine I found the historical detail excellent and easily visualised by the reader, and character development solidly laid out.
