Read by Tiffany: The makers of the upcoming movie claim that Cassandra Clare's writing is wonderfully visual, but this sentence to start a chapter only made me laugh "The weapons room looked exactly the way something called "the weapons room" sounded like it would look.". The story was so-so, characters interesting although rigidly stereotypic, flow was OK, but towards the end there were a couple of very loud CLUNKS as characters spewed out exposition in large chunks ("here is all the back story you hadn't yet uncovered .. BLEAUGH!").
Read earlier by Angela: I think I enjoyed it a little more than Tiffany and can’t wait to see it on the big screen this weekend. I agree it’s a little simplistic in areas but the action parts did it for me. I am slightly more generous with my rating giving it a 7/10.
