We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler

We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves - Karen Joy Fowler

Read by Julieanne: Once I start a novel and find it doesn’t quite grab me, I will persevere regardless, optimistic that things will improve.

This novel proved that my approach can be incorrect. I still disliked this novel just as much at the end as I did at the first chapter!

I found it hard to feel anything for the main character. I wasn’t a fan of her brother, her parents either. The whole Cooke family was dysfunctional. But I love dysfunction!!

I found myself re-reading passages and chapters to try and make some sense of this novel.

If you want to try this author, read “The Jane Austen Book Club” It’s not a great read, but it shines compared to this novel!
